Leica TS12

Leica Infinity Software

The Leica Viva TS12 is a robotic surveying package which will find, lock and measure up to 1000m with a single key press. PowerSearch sensor will find any prism type within seconds, locking on to a 360° prism up to 300m (lock to 600m). Connectivity to the TS12 is provided by the Leica CS10 radio field controller, offering long range, secure and fast wireless data transfer.

Using SmartWorx Viva LT the CS10 uses touch screen technology and function keys to collect data transmitted from the TS12. Data is stored to the internal memory, SD or CF-card in the controller.

The TS12 is powered by a Lithium Ion battery which will give 5 – 8 hours of use in the field.  Working in a range of -20°C to +50°C, the unit is sealed to IP54 standards.  Weight of total station: 4.8-5.5kg.

Leica Tripods

Leica GS18

The most important criterion for a good tripod is its stability, quite explicitly, the torsional rigidity. With that, a very valuable, but not the only, argument for the original tripod from Leica Geosystems has been named. Other substantial benefits are the height stability under load and the minimal horizontal drift. Also not to be underestimated are advantages such as long life, optimal vibration dampening, water resistance, outstanding behaviour in solar radiation and their weight in relation to load-bearing capacity.

Transparent choice
The right tripod choice is decisive if the indicated accuracy of an instrument is to be reached. The classification "heavy duty" and "light duty" is widely based on ISO Norm 12858-2.

The stability of the original
Leica Geosystems tripods are manufactured solely from wood or aluminium. Wood, especially the beech and pine used by Leica Geosystems, offers the best stability values, measured on vertical movement and horizontal drift over time. Wood also exhibits optimal vibration characteristics and therefore delivers substantial benefits, especially in the use of motorised TPS. The surfaces of the wooden tripods are sealed several times to prevent moisture absorption and to maximum longevity. Aluminium tripods are robust and save weight, their range of application is however limited.

Leica Monopod System

A mining Line & Grade tool to be used with a Multi or Total Station. The internally threaded Bronze Wall Inserts (1″ diameter)are drilled and countersunk into the drift wall. The Monopod Wall Mount is then threaded into the Wall Insert and becomes a stable platform for a Laser Theodolite, giving miners a coordinated control station to lay out line and grade. The Laser Theodolite displays horizontal angle and percent grade directly on the working face for easy markups.

A Monopod is a mining Line and Grade tool to be used with a Laser Theodolite or Total Station. Leica GMP101 Mini Prisms

Leica Flexline TS09 Plus

The range of a prism is due in part to its coating and the glass geometry. A number of original prisms from Leica Geosystems have a special coating on the reflective surfaces – the anti-reflective coating – and a copper coating on the reverse side. Without these, the range of distance measuring, ATR and PowerSearch would be reduced by up to 30%. The workmanship and the durability of the copper coating are decisive for a long life. The glass dimensions, the position in the holder and the areal orientation are important for measuring accuracy.

Leica Geosystems prisms are manufactured from glass of the highest quality and furnished with optical coatings so that even under the most extreme environmental conditions, a long lifetime and maximum range of the highest accuracy can be achieved.

• GMP101 Mini prism is mounted in metal holder. Includes a circular bubble, removable target plate, spike and padded bag. Prism constant of +17.5mm, range 2,000m (7,000ft).

 

MOSS Miner Operated Survey System

The MOSS underground surveying software supports a wide variety of Leica Robotic Total Stations including the latest MS60 3D Face Mapping and Jumbo Drill Steel Layout system. MOSS incorporates the use of a Robotic Total Station to control all layout activities related to surveying and the design location of the Jumbo Drill Pattern layouts on active headings. The system/solution will reduce over-break by at least 10 percent, and while using this automation, MOSS reduces manpower at the face.

With MOSS implemented in active headings we see a direct result to improved workflow and faster cycle times. The real-time data MOSS is able to capture and provide solutions for: Comparison between Mine Design and Actual Blast, Setting of Line and Grade, Collar Drill Hole Location, 3D drill Pattern Generator, Face Scanning and Photos, and Cavity Monitoring. The entire seven step process takes on average twenty to twenty five minutes.

MOSS has proven direct cost savings due to the real-time data provided to the miner at the face. The data collected related to this process is a one man job, thereby reducing manpower cost while increasing safety by having less people in the development heading.
