First Ever Race to the Finish Raises $72,000!

On Saturday, April 2nd, over 225 racers gathered at Kivi Park in Sudbury to participate in the first ever Race to the Finish Presented by NSS Canada – Designed by Apex Warrior in support of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.

Racers across Northern Ontario ran, jogged and walked the 1k kids, 5k Community 4 Life Trail Presented by Coniston Industrial Park & Lopes Limited, 10k, and 21k trail to help the YMCA get that much closer to the $2 million goal for their My Y is Resilient Campaign in Sudbury and North Bay.

Followed by the race, 200 guests gathered at the Science North Vale Cavern for the Awards Gala Presented by Desjardins where guests celebrated with a medal ceremony, sit-down dinner catered by Bryston’s-On-The-Park, silent auction, 50/50, and dance.

The first ever Race to the Finish and Awards Gala raised a total of $72,000 for our YMCA of Northeastern Ontario!

“My goal was to create an event to help support and maintain building healthiercommunities and I truly believe we did that with Race to the Finish” shares NSS Canada’s President, Bruno Lalonde. “Seeing hundreds of racers and community members cometogether demonstrates how vital our YMCA and their services are to our community.
