Business Development Manager - Geomatics
Purpose of Position
As the Business Development Manager for Geomatics, you will be responsible for generating new leads and supporting existing clients throughout the region on our surface and underground geomatics solutions. Specializing in being a pro-active problem solver, you will act as the ‘hub’ for the region and ensure clients get maximum benefit from our products and solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assesses, establishes, and develops new opportunities in the Mining and Civil Industries
- Drive achievable client and sales growth in existing and new markets
- Initiate, build, and improve relationships with customers and strategic partners
- Lead development of sales growth strategies and marketing campaigns to achieve company targets
- Develop and deliver effective presentations and product demonstrations for all geomatics hardware and software
- Liaise with other departments or teams within NSS Canada to ensure maximum client satisfaction and quick turn around of technical support
- Utilize and update CRM systems to ensure accurate data capture and communication
- Work directly with clients to match the NSS suite of products with their needs and requirements
- Network within industry groups and professional organizations to establish a personal and professional brand
Knowledge and Skills
- Have an exceptional understanding of civil and mining engineering principles and have experience with their practical applications
- Quickly learn new product lines and understand where they can be best utilized by clients
- Skilled with understanding the requirements and requests of clients and provide them with the best solutions
- Able to educate clients on best technology practices and bring awareness to unidentified issues or insufficiencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of software
- Proficient with CRM platforms, prior experience with Salesforce an asset

Preferred Education and Work Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Mining, Civil, Business, or Sales, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Three or more years of technical sales and/or industry experience preferred
- Experience working for a B2B supplier to the mining industry is an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Passport required

Act as the ‘hub’ for managing the relationship with Hexagon clients. Specialize in taking a proactive approach to problem-solving with Hexagon clients, working closely with them to ensure they receive the maximum benefit from the Hexagon suite of products. Responsible for continually fostering the relationship and working directly with Hexagon clients to help them succeed.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Pro-actively manages Hexagon’s relationship with assigned clients
• Responsible for direct sales (new and upgrades) to existing and new clients
• Responsible for working directly with clients to match the Hexagon suite of products with the client’s needs and requirements
• Directly responsible for the communication and coordination of additional client support as needed with other departments.
• Ensures the client’s needs and expectations are met
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of routine and ad hoc reports as needed/required
• Provides expert technical advice to new and existing clients
• Provides timely feedback to the Technical Support and Software Development Departments to assist in continually improving Hexagon client support and the Hexagon suite of products
• Travel is required
• Effective communication & good relations skills
• Ability to manage and work in teams
• Understand the sales process
• Timely reporting of sales opportunities
• Meet sales goals and objectives for your region
• Meet the Key Performance Indicators as defined by your manager
